HALF MAST | EMPIRE OF THE SUN
For the live performance of
“Half mast” by “Empire of the Sun”
We conjured
an audio-synchronized
visual odyssey
Fusing traditional Asian iconography with a futuristic influx — a near perfect fit for
Empire of the Sun’s styling. A combination of detailed wireframe objects and point-cloud scans of Buddha figures, temple gates, and ritual masks floating within a three-dimensional grid, contours pulsing in sync with every bass throb or any of Luke Steele’s iconic high-register falsettos.
Mineral-toned POINTCLOUDS erupt and dissipate like digital whispy incense.
organic foliage reconstructed as shimmering data points.
Fragmented hands reaching toward celestial geometries, evoking both human yearning and a higher celestial order.
Digital pagodas becoming a place of digital worship
This minimalistic
yet richly textured aesthetic
goes hand in hand with
Empire of the Sun’s ethos
of Neon mythic grandeur
meeting dance-floor euphoria.
Subtle glints of electric blue trace the music’s emotional peaks, while warmer earth tones ground the composition in cultural resonance.
The result is a meditative journey through sound and sight, where ancient ritual and technological innovation coalesce.
